Last Night in Soho Review

“Last Night In Solo” was one of my most anticipated movies to see to close out to 2021, luckily for me, the Ridley Scott directed film did not disappoint. At the very least, it is a very well-made film. The first thing I will say is that it’s 100% not for everyone. It’s listed as a drama, but is more on the side of a psychological thriller. Thomasin McKenzie and Anya Taylor-Joy were breathtaking in their roles and with the creative story line and artistic directing from Scott, “Last Night In Solo” is a creepy, anxiety inducing, and thought provoking film. I’ve been a fan of Thomasin McKenzie since her breakout role in “JoJo Rabbit”, so it was great to see her kill it as the lead in this.

“Last Night In Solo” is a rattling 7.0 out of 10. While the first 20 or so minutes are a bit slow and even confusing, the payoff is worth it. Overall, the film is nothing spectacular. It’s good for what it is and is super enjoyable as a film. It’s worth the watch IF you’re a fan of psychological thrillers and has a creative and unique story that will rattle you and leave you wanting more. While it’s worth the watch, it’s definitely not a must watch and I wouldn’t recommend you go see it in the theaters. Hangout at home and throw this one on if you’re interested in checking it out.
