As concerts, shows, and tours return to the world this fall and winter, being able to add events to your Spotify for Artists page is invaluable. If you’re #TeamSpotify you probably have noticed the “Concerts” section that appears above an artist’s biography section.
As an artist, particularly if you’re still independent, it’s in your best interest to add all of your upcoming concerts to Spotify. With nearly half a billion active monthly users, Spotify is not only one of the top ways fans can listen to their favorite music, but is also another tool to build deeper relationships with your fans and to actively let them know when and where you are performing.
Now you might think, as an indie artist how can I add my upcoming concerts to my Spotify for Artists page? Luckily, Spotify is on our side. Spotify automatically connects to ticket websites such as Ticketmaster, SongKick and Eventbrite to update artists’ Spotify profiles in real time. Now, utilizing Ticketmaster as an indie artist can be difficult, especially if you’re using ticket platforms such as Eventbrite or Helm.
If you’re reading this, click the following link: (yes that one <—-) and create an account on SongKick. If you’re not familiar, Song Kick is a local-focused event rolodex that makes uploading your concerts to one place extremely easy. Once you upload to Songkick, your concerts will show up on your Spotify artist page, and if a listener lives nearby the “On Tour” box will display your upcoming concert just below your popular songs section.
1. Make an Account
As stated, Songkick makes it easy to add concerts to your Spotify profile and they make it even simpler to sign up by allowing you to create an account with either your Facebook or Spotify accounts.
2. Click “Add an event”
On every single page of the Songkick website, if you scroll to the very bottom, you’ll find a link that says “Add an event”.
Click that link and it will bring you to a page that allows you to add in details and information on your upcoming show which includes venue, supporting artists, and door time, and more. Add in all your show details and then press submit to have your song appear on SongKick. Once you add your concerts to Songkick, they will automatically be added to your Spotify artist page. Hope this helps you sell out your next concert 🙂
